Ala Khutah

Ala Khutah – Saudi National Hijra Trail Platform

Overview

Ala Khutah ("every step revives you") is a Saudi national experience that retraces the route the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions took during the Hijra from Mecca to Medina: a 470 km trail with seven overnight stations, 41 historical sites and more than 100 restaurants, running over six months.

The project is backed by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, the Saudi Tourism Authority, Sela, the Pilgrim Experience Program and the Quality of Life Program under Saudi Vision 2030.

I built the recruitment and workforce platform that staffs it: the portal where people apply for roles along the trail, and the tools the organisers use to screen, place and schedule them.
